The Indian Ocean has entertained my ears and eyes with thunderous waves, as roll and crash in violent abandon.
The swell is too big for me to swim. So I watched and pondered whether each wave is commanded individually by God, or whether the laws of physics, once set in motion, have kept the tides and waves doing their thing.
Certainly several stories from scripture indicate that God can command the seas to do his work at anytime (JC calms the storm, crossing of the Red Sea, Jeremiah 31:35 & Psalm 89:9)
But two beautiful things occurred to me.
Firstly, the waves NEVER stop. Since the day God commanded their place and physics they have swept the earths shores.
Secondly, Psalms 148:7.
“Praise the Lord from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all ocean depths”.
In putting these pieces together I delighted in the thought that the oceans give to the Lord ENDLESS PRAISE.
It’s like the rolling and thunderous roar are a love language to His heart.
And I wonder what they say? Perhaps this;
“We know you our creator and you are
