Walking through the grounds of a rehabilitation hospital in Tanzania, I discovered two young lives on the cusp of change. With malformed limbs, the free surgery they'd travelled so far to receive, would release them from a life of certain despair and poverty. They were quiet and in my mind, brave. Agnes in her tattered red satin dress, was radiant with innocence and curiosity. The little boy carried a quiet dignity that is rare even in grown men.
It still amazes me how two small people, seemingly bankrupt of life and western riches, carried qualities of such great beauty... Bravery, Innocence and Dignity. Three things to strive for no matter our position in life. Qualities often found in jars of clay.
