Sri Lanka has left its mark on my feet! Here are the ‘Keens’ (extremely comfortable travel shoes) Ive worn most days and the tan marks they’ve created. It reminds me of my journey with God, that whatever I expose to him receives his touch and subsequent change. ‘Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.’ Proverbs 22:4 Humility is the vehicle for change in my character and the path to blessing. As proverbs teaches, humility is the fear of the Lord... and for me personally this means being transparent before him. Fearing God comes from a healthy understanding that He sees everything, regardless of our mechanisims to bury issues. ‘Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.’ Hebrews 4:13 So if something needs the Holy Spirit’s work in repair, cleansing, dismantling or rearranging - BRING IT OUT of hiding. Be transparent and vulnerable. This takes a humble and contrite heart, but that is what receives the blessing of God. ‘... God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble’ 1 Peter 5:5
