Beautiful Knuckles

This inland mountain range is often robbed in mist (this photo taken today, was a storm we tried to outrun but failed :) It’s folds, peaks and biodiversity make it perfect for trekking.

I marvelled from the twisty mountain road and thought about Lakegala mountain which is at the centre of the range, regarded as the most difficult peak to climb in Sri Lanka.

Isaiah 52:7 came to mind:

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!”

The feet are beautiful because they were prepared to journey; to cover difficult terrain; to hurt and ultimately to love.

What length will I go to in order to share good news with the lost, poor, dysfunctional and broken hearted?

Well perhaps it’s not about the ‘lengths’ but the depths of my conviction that EVERY human is longed for by God.

He longs for them and died for them. Now will I open my eyes and RECOGNISE the value God has placed on them.... and let my feet walk over difficult terrain (whether physical, emotional or spiritual) to tell them, ‘my God has salvation for you.’
