Not Worth Pursuing

Went for a walk down by the Snowy River.  Boondocks-ville big time, passing through to get to Melbourne.  Stepping through the grass i heard a familiar and suspicious sound... and there she was, a lively slithery brown snake taking to escape my boots! I took 2 steps back, about faced and tried a different path to the water.  Ten steps later i see a black shiny pipe on the ground.... OH yeah right??!!#@$%% . I quickly decided that the adventure wasn't worth the risk. It was a sunbaking district for snakes.  You've never seen me move so fast before.  I leaped like a spastic Gazelle to get back to the truck.

Sometimes it's not worth pursuing something if you're in the wrong place to start with!!

Soccer Lessons

Thursday 20th April 2006

Soccer season is here again and I love watching my son play on Saturdays. Naturally the first game deserves a few photos, so I stood on the sidelines armed and dangerous. It's no easy feat catching the perfect shot ,of the most talented and handsome player on the field. Several factors got in my way.

Bible College Relfections

Wednesday 15th February 2006

Unit 9 at the Bible College of Queensland was the tiniest space Rob and I had ever lived in. “Lord, can it get any pokier than this? Yes, a caravan. This is what we toured around the country in, ministering in churches of all size and brand. Our ministry 'toolbox' consists of songs, personal stories and powerful imagery using multimedia. Weaving these together we have watched the Prince of Peace bring refreshing, revelation and strength to congregations and church leaders alike. The issue of tiny spaces and my 'personal space' was something BCQ addressed in many ways...

The Flowers

Tuesday 21st March 2006

Yesterday I was having a chat with my daughter Zinta. She was reflecting on our ministry verse of "flowers will blossom in the desert" and commenting on what a lovely thought and mission it is. Having been on the road with us, Zinta understands (even at the tender age of 10) God's desire to see spiritually dry places transformed into places of refreshing and fruitfulness for the kingdom of heaven. Sometimes I brush over the word "flowers" without thinking. But as I listened to Zinta, God whispered in my heart... "Never forget Aliki, the flowers are the people".

A Change in the Wind

Tuesday 24th January 2006

It was to be a long day of travel. An endless landscape between Broken Hill and Mildura. We were driving Ivy (our Iveco Daily) into a head wind which always decreases our fuel economy. At the recent encouragement of Bill Johnson I decided to "practise" my spiritual authority. I wound down the window, stuck my head outside and bellowed with a grin on my face "get ye behind us wind and push us to Mildura". Amused with myself...

Where there's smoke?

Wednesday 24 August 2005

We're heading to Sydney again after an amazing month of ministry. The Seasons Womens Conference in Toowoomba saw many women reconnecting with God in powerful ways. One of the things I did was to connect with technology in a powerful way.
